The painful way
  • Third-party grocery apps take 15–30% and own your customers.
  • Your POS, website, and loyalty are three different bills.
  • No easy way to manage weight-based items, cases, or units.
  • Pickup and local delivery are bolted-on afterthoughts.
  • Kitchen features you'll never use clutter every screen.
The Fulplate way
  • Direct storefront on your domain — keep 100% of the sale.
  • One app for POS, storefront, receipts, and customer CRM.
  • By-the-pound, per-unit, or by-case pricing built in — weight entered by staff or scale.
  • Same-day pickup and neighborhood delivery, ready on day one.
  • Retail-first workspace — every screen built for aisles, scales, and checkout lanes.

Common questions

What to expect.

Is this really for retail — or restaurant software with a rename?+

It's a real retail vertical. When you sign up as Food Retail, your workspace is built around aisles, scales, and checkout — you won't see prep-kitchen screens you don't use. If you also run a hot bar or prepared foods, you can turn on kitchen features later as add-ons.

Can I sell by weight or by case?+

Yes. Items support by-pound, by-piece, and by-case pricing. Weight can be entered by staff at the POS (the cart shows weight × unit price and computes the line total in real time) or looked up by PLU/UPC. Certified bench-scale and barcode-scanner hardware integration is available as the Barcode & Scale add-on — third-party USB/serial hardware works today; a Fulplate-certified hardware bundle is on the roadmap.

Do you support pickup and local delivery?+

Yes — time-slot pickup and radius-based delivery are built in, with zones, cutoffs, and driver assignment. No third-party delivery required.

What about EBT, alcohol age gates, or produce PLU codes?+

PLU codes and age-gate SKUs are supported today. EBT is available as an add-on for licensed retailers where eligible — contact us if that's blocking.

What if I add prepared foods later?+

Switch your vertical to Hybrid in settings. KDS, prep-station routing, and allergen tools appear — nothing else moves.

What's included on the base plan for a Food Retail store?+

Branded storefront on your domain, POS with weight/unit/case pricing, one unified catalog, pickup with time slots, radius-based local delivery, receipts and customer CRM, in-person card reader support, offline mode for markets and pop-ups, and weekly business insights. No kitchen tools clutter the sidebar.

Which capabilities are add-ons for retail-only operations?+

Optional retail add-ons include: Loyalty & Marketing Automation (stamps, points, campaigns), Barcode & Scale Integration (deli scales, handheld scanners), EBT / SNAP Readiness (where eligible), advanced Business Intelligence dashboards, SMS notifications, custom branding on emails and receipts, POS & third-party integrations, and priority support. Each is transparently priced monthly on the Add-ons section of our pricing page — add or remove any month. All of these are bundled free at Multi-Location Retail.

What is explicitly NOT shown for a retail-only tenant?+

Kitchen Display System (KDS), 86 Manager, HACCP logs, prep-station routing, table management, dine-in QR, catering flows, and the AI Food Agent are hidden by default for retail tenants. You won't see them in navigation, reports, or settings unless you switch your vertical to Hybrid.

If I run a hot bar or make deli sandwiches, do I need to upgrade tiers?+

No — you stay on the same tier. Switch your vertical to Hybrid and add the Kitchen Toolkit add-on. That unlocks KDS, prep routing, and allergen tags without changing your plan or pricing.

Are pickup and local delivery really included — or an add-on?+

Included. Time-slot pickup and radius-based neighborhood delivery are part of the base plan for Food Retail, with zones, cutoffs, and driver assignment. Third-party delivery marketplaces are optional integrations, not required.

What about processing fees for card and EBT payments?+

Card and bank processing is billed transparently at market rate — typically ≤3%, by your processor. EBT processing (via the EBT Readiness add-on) uses your state's issuer network at their published rates. No markup from Fulplate on either.
